In this conversation, Daniela Andrade and Fern revisit the role of p(B)ajubá in shaping LGBTQIAPN+ identities in Brazil while reflecting on the importance of preserving and protecting its travesti legacy. Centering trans and travesti knowledge, they discuss the ethics of collaboration, cultural transmission, and inclusion. As an Afro-trans linguistic heritage, p(B)ajubá offers a perspective that challenges colonial ways of producing meaning, inviting audiences to consider what forms of knowledge emerge from communities historically pushed to the margins.

As part of Montreal Monochrome eleventh edition, this long table conversation brings together cultural workers from Gallery 44, Hamilton Artists Inc., South Asian Visual Arts Centre (SAVAC), and OCAD University who have been collaborating as part of Threading Frequencies—a three-year partnership project that responded to EDIA (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility) practices within artist-run centres alongside public discourse regarding institutional mistreatment of marginalized arts workers.
