A Year of Deep Listening Book Launch — Crossing Tones Listening Party with Jazz legend Bob Stewart
Join us for this third edition of Flux Festival, which offers an afternoon of listening, discussion, and performances. The day begins with the launch of the book A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros, edited by Stephanie Loveless. We’ll follow that with a special session featuring our distinguished guests, Ras Burnett and Ben Young from the New York jazz archive Crossing Tones, who will lead a jazz listening session in the presence of legendary jazz tuba player Bob Stewart.
Opening Reception and BLK D’OR — Montreal Monochrome XI
To kick off this eleventh edition of Montréal Monochrome, we’ll begin with an opening announcement followed by a BLK D'OR concert featuring Jahsun, Cabral Jacobs & Endong Egone and refreshments. BLK D'OR is an exploration of free black expression that seeks new sounds, harmony, dissonance & authentic cultural exchanges.
Montreal Monochrome XI
Montréal Monochrome is an annual conference series for Indigenous, Black, and artists and cultural workers of color, organized by articule's Fabulous Committe. This 11th edition, which will take place from September 2-5, 2026, will expand to welcome guests from across Canada to explore our theme: TRANSIENT.
Reading Room & Collective Library
We are thrilled to invite you to Dick’s Reading Room and Collective Library, running Monday, August 17th until Sunday, August 30, at articule. All are invited to donate or lend printed materials that address trans lives, desires, fantasies, politics, advocacy, erotics, and other facets of trans experience. Dick’s entire collection will also be available for browsing, including our non-circulating (more rare and precious) titles.
