As part of the 8th edition of Montreal Monochrome, OML STUDIOS presents "BEYOND chaos", a film that traces the creation of the Chaos Fashion Show presented in Montreal last June, a fashion event proudly bearing the colors of the Caribbean culture and featuring exclusively Afro-descendant models.

Following the screening, OML STUDIOS will present a panel discussion on the Chaos Fashion Show and the representation of black modeling in Montreal. This panel will reflect on the fashion industry by considering how to encourage the selection of more black models and hire more black professionals in the Montreal fashion industry. With the panelists, HoneyB Management, Marieme MBOUP and Marie WHALEN.

Considering the increase in COVID 19 and flu transmissions, please note that masks must be worn for the duration of the events. Limited number of seats, reserve your place now!

OML STUDIOS is a film production company that specializes in creating visual content for fashion brands created by three artists: Sickkid, LAX, Maëlle Bonnegrace

The three founders, originally from the French West Indies, have merged their passion for cinema and fashion to offer a different type of content than what is commonly found. Their goal is to elevate clothing to the level of art by making short films that tell the story of the creations and/or designers.

OML STUDIOS is also present in the event industry. In June 2022, the Chaos Fashion Show took place, a fashion event proudly bearing the colors of Caribbean culture and featuring exclusively Afro-descendant models.

Since its inception, the studio's mission has been to showcase Afro talent, creativity and genius in both the fashion and film industries.

Montreal Monochrome is an annual conference organized by articule’s Fabulous Committee (anti-oppression). It aims to address the mis- and under-representation and systemic oppression of marginalized groups in Montréal’s contemporary art milieu. The conference works toward imagining and nurturing new and existing bonds, solidarities and friendships between Indigenous artists, thinkers and cultural workers and their racialized allies.

As a project of the Fabulous Committee, this year the Short Term Programming Committee is joining the efforts of the Fabulous Committee to combine the annual conference with a window exhibition and a Special Project. Both proposals are an invitation to think about the new gallery space in terms of multiple notions of time.
