Spring Programming — January to July 2026

articule is pleased to present our public programming for the Spring 2026 season. All of our events are free and open to the public. Follow our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, and Mastodon) for the latest details.

ENCRE ROUGE/RED INK — Dominic Lafontaine
— From January 16 to February 28, 2026
— Opening reception on January 16, 2026, from 5 to 7 PM
— Conference on February 28 at 4 PM

ENCRE ROUGE/RED INK is a multimedia installation that exposes the phenomenon of the Pretendian—non-Indigenous individuals who falsely present themselves as Indigenous.

The work tells the story of the Federation of First Nations Collective (FFNC), a fictitious organization created using artificial intelligence. Viewers are invited to relive a pivotal day in the FFNC’s history by visiting its headquarters, where the organization produces its identity cards.

Using humor, the piece highlights how real- world groups, much like the fictional FFNC, weaponize bureaucracy to exploit the perceived "benefits" of Indigenous identity. These actors spill red ink in their attempts to appropriate "red" blood.

Winter General Assembly
— Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM
— Meeting in-person and via Zoom

Convivial and open to the public, articule’s general assemblies are perfect opportunities to take part in discussions that will affect the centre, get to know member opportunities, and renew or complete the membership process. Your participation is essential in order to approve the Financial Statements for the year 2024-2025 and the auditor for the following year.

Territoires humides — Fenyx Florentiny
— From March 20 to May 2, 2026

This project traces a queer and decolonial genealogy through sensory narratives rooted in the landscapes between Martinique and Quebec. Through an immersive and evolving installation blending sound, text, bioplastics, organic objects, and images, the work proposes a living laboratory where speculative fiction, guided meditation, and aquatic stories intertwine. The exhibition invites a bodily and collective experience, transforming visitors into an integral part of a shifting queer ecosystem.

Montreal Monochrome XI
— May 20th to May 23, 2026

Montreal Monochrome is an annual conference organized by articule’s Fabulous Committee (anti-oppression). It aims to address the mis- and under-representation and systemic oppression of marginalized groups in Montréal’s contemporary art milieu. The conference works toward imagining and nurturing new and existing bonds, solidarities and friendships between Indigenous artists, thinkers and cultural workers and their racialized allies.
