Join us for a book launch celebrating the publication of A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros (Terra Nova Press), edited by Stephanie Loveless. Host Katherine McLeod will lead a discussion of the collection and Deep Listening practice. This will be followed by brief performances of text scores by contributors to the book experienced in Oliveros’ performance practices and Deep Listening. Then join in by helping us perform some of these scores—all you need is a body and the interest!
After a short break, this book launch will be followed at 3 PM by the Listening Party organized by Crossing Tones.
Stephanie Loveless is a Montreal-born sound and media artist, educator, and Director of the Center for Deep Listening who earned a Deep Listening certification directly from pioneering American composer Pauline Oliveros. Loveless carries forward Oliveros' legacy through teaching, sonic meditations, and editing the volume A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros.
Crossing Tones Listening Party with Bob Stewart

Join special guests Ras Burnett and Ben Young from the New York’s Crossing Tones jazz archive as they lead a rare jazz listening session. We will hear previously unknown jazz recordings that will blow your mind! As an extra special treat, the legendary jazz tuba player Bob Stewart will be in attendance to join the conversation.
Crossing Tones is a non-profit archive of significant jazz collections and related items. If you are a jazz fan, you will not want to miss this!

Arts in the Margins advances equity, diversity and Inclusion via innovation in arts presentation, production and training. Our focus is on creative musical works in often over-looked genres by and for historically marginalized communities.
Flux Festival is a Montreal experimental music festival. The third annual edition will be offering a unique mix of concerts, workshops, roundtables and launches configured around performance, place and politics.
