Featuring panelists Oliver Suri-Cernacek, Chivengi, Chris Ender Coryat, James Goddard (Outreach Director at articule), and Renée Edmona Mathews. The discussion will be moderated by Fatou Alhya Diagne.

Cultural movements are built through relationships. They emerge through artists, collectives, organizations, communities, organizers, producers, and the many people who create the conditions for ideas and practices to grow.

Living Systems brings together people working across different parts of Montréal's cultural ecosystem to explore what it means to build, sustain, and strengthen those connections.

The conversation considers community building, collaboration, convening, representation, access, resources, cultural exchange, sustainability, and the realities of cultural work. It asks what allows creative ecosystems to grow, what makes them difficult to sustain, and how resources, knowledge, opportunities, and visibility can circulate more equitably.

Rather than presenting one model of cultural change, the panel recognizes that there are many ways to contribute: creating, organizing, producing, connecting, advocating, mentoring, funding, sharing knowledge, and making space for others.

At its core, Living Systems asks what we need to build together so that creative practices, stories, and communities can not only emerge, but continue, evolve, and support the people within them.

Join Re.Stance Collective on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at ESC Montréal, for an immersive day-to-night experience exploring “Garment → Breakdown” through upcycled fashion, textile art, live entertainment, workshops, music, and material innovation.

The day begins with a curated textile and art exhibition, artist talks, panel discussions, workshops, and a marketplace featuring independent designers, artists, and creatives working with reclaimed, discarded, transformed, and unconventional materials.

As night falls, the exhibition transforms into Re.Stance’s immersive fashion showcase, bringing together upcycled fashion, live sound, dance, movement, and multidisciplinary artistic presentations.

The evening continues with the Labia Cinematica Afterparty, featuring DJs, music, nightlife, and community until 3 AM.

Come for the exhibition. Stay for the showcase. Dance into the night.
