A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros — Book Launch
Saturday, October 4, 2025, starting at 1 PM.
Event free of charge and open to the public.
Join us at 1:00 PM, for a book launch celebrating the publication of A Year of Deep Listening: 365 Text Scores for Pauline Oliveros. This festive event will open with a discussion with the editor of this vol., Stephanie Loveless (with an audience Q and A), followed by a brief performance of some of the scores by an ensemble drawn from those who are experienced with Pauline Oliveros’ performance practices and Deep Listening. Then please join in by helping us perform some of these scores—all you need is a body and the interest! The book will be available for sale by Librairie Résonance Bookstore, and perhaps there will be some special give-aways!
This book launch, after a brief pause, will be followed at 3:00 PM by the Crossing Tones Listening Party
A rare jazz listening session brought to you by Crossing Tones A NFP dedicated to the discovery and archiving of lost and otherwise unknown jazz recordings and related items. Led by Ras Burnett and Ben Young, we will hear unknown jazz recordings that will blow your mind! And as a extra special treat, the legendary Jazz Tuba player, Bob Stewart, will be in attendance, so listen up for rare recordings with him. Ras and Ben will talk about the recordings, in conversation with Bob Stewart. If you are a jazz fan, you will not want to miss this!
