Mycorhization, installation by artist Bosny in the articule window.

A mycorrhizal network is the underground connection of plants by symbiont fungi. These allow plants to share resources with each other, so that if one plant has more water or sunlight it can transfer it to the others. These networks occupy a huge portion of the earth's soil, linking billions of plants and trees. So it is with good neighborhoods or artistic communities: mutual aid and sharing fuel the prosperity of all. No one can create or work without the support, help and inspiration that comes from others. With this work, the artist hopes to add to the mycorrhization of the various artistic and cultural players in the Plaza Saint-Hubert community. The Plaza has undergone many works, displacements and transformations, and in times of flux, it is necessary to nourish the roots.

For his installation, the artist presents the portraits of two actresses of the Plaza Saint-Hubert, Keithy Antoine, founder of the store Espace Urbain, and Meygan Tolley of Ausgang Plaza.

As an artist interested in how images are fabricated across various media, Bosny has made a name for himself in muralism, printmaking, papermaking and graffiti. From a young age, he has been shocked by how people with different lives fail to see the humanity in the other: his hope is that by interweaving various artistic processes, he might help bridge such gaps in the arts. He took atelier drawing and painting courses at Atelier de Brésoles as a teenager before enrolling in fine arts at Dawson College. During that time, he made a name for himself in the graffiti community as an innovative, experimental voice. He then brought that spirit of exploration into his first solo murals before starting university at NSCAD in printmaking, however the lack of mural opportunities in Halifax brought him back home to Montréal where he completed the degree at Concordia University. Since graduating he has started making art full-time, working primarily as a mural artist while focusing on indoor media such as printmaking and papermaking during the colder months.
