‘The Erasure of Palestine’ by Ahmad Al Bazz
Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 5 to 7 PM. Free and open to all.
Maison Palestine invites us to launch ‘The Erasure of Palestine,’ (2025) the outcome of a three-year journey by independent journalist and photographer Ahmad Al-Bazz, who set out to document what remains of the hundreds of Palestinian villages and towns depopulated and destroyed during the creation and expansion of Israel from 1948 to the present.
In a 50-minute presentation, the photographer will share details of his research journey, revisiting the Palestinian Nakba of 1948 and the events that led to it as a key theoretical framework for approaching the Palestinian-Israeli context. This includes a focus on the current situation in the Gaza Strip: how to understand Gaza as a refugee territory, where 80% of its population are displaced from more than 190 ethnically cleansed sites across historic Palestine.
