NEW PLACE, NEW CYCLE

New Place, New Cycle

Dear friend/colleague/family,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of articule, an artist run centre in Montreal. This Winter, we’re running a fundraising campaign, asking our community to give us a gift, so we can give back to you and continue to support the Montreal artist community all year long.

New Place, New Cycle

This campaign celebrates a new cycle for articule, marking 40 (+1) years and our new location on the Plaza Saint Hubert! New Place, New Cycle, consists of ten postcards created in collaboration with friends of the centre to thank you for your contribution. The money raised in this campaign will help offset our moving expenses, support our programming, and share the work of participating artists. Your support is a great gift to articule and in return we give these gifts back to you!

What can I do?

This Winter, we’ve set a modest goal to raise $2,000.

If you consider yourself a part of the articule community; if you’ve enjoyed our programming; if you believe in the work we do: please, consider donating.

Click here to donate $1, $5 - or more!

You don’t need to donate to make a difference!

If you’re not in a financial position to donate, but want to help support articule, please spread the word about the campaign - share this with your friends and professional network(s), and ask them to donate and/or share it as well.

When you donate your time, money, or resources to articule, you're investing back into yourself, your peers, your community, and the important cultural and social work that’s done here. Help us keep supporting our communitie(s) well into the future.

… don’t know articule very well?

We’re a leader in the Montreal artist-run centre community, prioritizing emerging, experimental, and/or underrepresented artists and projects.

We support artists and our membership by providing them with opportunities that might otherwise be inaccessible to them. We always pay artists for the work they do. We collaborate with groups and organizations that operate outside the bounds of the arts community. We develop radical policies that become models for other organizations, and we’re constantly evaluating and evolving the priorities of the centre so the work we do creates meaningful impact. We’re able to do this important work thanks to our funders, volunteers, and especially our staff. Learn more about articule’s mandate, history, and programming here.

Our achievements might make it look like we don’t need support ourselves, but in reality we do a lot with very little.

… DO know articule?

Then you probably know that we’ve moved!

There are a lot of exciting changes happening at articule this year: a new place, new staff, and new programming planned for 2022, with the same commitment to fostering contemporary, interdisciplinary, and socially engaged art.

The success of these projects will profoundly influence the ways we can support our artists, membership, and broader communities.

Thank you to all the participating artists in this campaign: Asinnajaq, arkadi lavoie lachapelle, Dayna Danger, Eduardo Shlomo Velasquez, Kama La Mackerel, kimura byol-nathalie lemoine, Lee Lai, Lisa Mayes, Shanna Strauss, and Swapnaa Tamhane.

And thank you to Cécilia Bracmort and the Fun Com team for leading this fundraiser!
