Call for Proposals - Winter Window Exhibition

Walking down Plaza Saint-Hubert, you may be forgiven for walking right past the gallery without noticing it. After all, the only signage we have out front is our name, articule, in small, white vinyl lettering, just above the height of your knees. There is a sense that the gallery is hidden in plain sight, as though transparent. For our Winter Window Exhibition, mid-December 2024 to mid-January 2025, we are inviting applicants, both individual artists and collectives, to propose works around the theme: TRANSPARENCE. Works examining the unobstructed passage of light, works studying how looking through an object changes both the viewer and what is perceived, works with an aching desire to reveal personal secrets (a misguided longing for transparency?) are all welcome.

Previous experience showing work in galleries is not necessary. Once installed, the project must be self-sufficient and not require the assistance of the centre's employees for the duration of the exhibition – any electronic equipment must be on a timer or otherwise autonomous. articule offers an artist fee of $1250.

Send your submissions – 5 to 10 support images and the completed submission form – to programmation@articule.org by Friday, November 22nd, 2024, 11:59 PM. 

YOUR APPLICATION MUST BE SENT IN PDF FORMAT (a single file including: the submission form, your profile, your support material and any additional documentation). If you are unable to compile everything in one file, we will accept a COMPRESSED FOLDER (.zip) containing the submission form, your profile, your support material and any additional documentation.
