exhibitions 2010-2011

articule invites local, national and international artists, groups of artists and independent curators to suggest answers to possible questions regarding impossible subjects by submitting exhibition proposals for the September 2010 to June 2011 programming season.

articule is an artist-run centre dedicated to the dissemination of a broad range of contemporary art practices with a particular interest in experimental and risk-taking projects. Prior to sending a proposal, we invite you to consult our website for current and recent exhibits, our mandate, gallery images and floor plan.

DEADLINE: January 15, 2010

special projects

As a counterpoint to the exhibition programming at articule, Special Projects promotes independent projects of diverse natures for public presentation: public interventions, live art projects, happenings, new artistic practices, as well as Web based projects, public talks, workshops, video/film screenings etc. The committee has a particular interest in "undisciplined" practices, and projects that manifest themselves in site-specific contexts and/or alternatives sites. Support by articule's Special Projects functions as a co-presentation and comes in various forms including: financial (up to a maximum of $500), promotional and logistical support, access to the center's equipment, administrative infrastructure, and venue. Admissible expenses are: costs related to promotion and presentation, openings, rental of space and equipment; and in some cases, contributions towards artist fees and production costs. Please submit a complete dossier (see below) and allow a minimum of two months before your activity begins for your dossier to be reviewed by the committee.
